Occasionally a customer will inquire if their vehicle’s electronic suspension can be replaced with a non-adjustable product. The following is a list of vehicles and procedures for replacing adjustable products with non-adjustable products.
Buick Park Avenue 1993-96 with CCR
(Computer Command Ride)
- Remove strut actuators.
- Remove the CCR module located under the drivers seat. (Ref. Adm. Mes. #VSS20000025).
- Remove & install struts per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 71822 Front, 71798 Rear.
Buick Skylark 1992-94 with CCR
(Computer Command Ride)
- Remove strut & shock actuators.
- Remove the CCR module located on the backside of sound insulator panel on the right side. (Ref. Adm. Mes. #VSS20000025).
- Remove & install struts & shocks per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 71921, 71922 Front, 5896 Rear.
Cadillac Allante 1989-92 with SDD
(Speed Dependent Damping)
- Remove strut actuators.
- Reference Administrative Message #VSS20000025 and Service Manual for adjustment to the system.
- Remove & install struts per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 71854 Front, 71966 Rear.
Cadillac Deville 1991-93 with CCR
(Computer Command Ride)
- Remove strut actuators.
- Reference Administrative Message #VSS20000025 and Service Manual to disable the indicator lamp.
- Remove & install struts per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 71822 Front, 71798 Rear.
Cadillac Eldorado 1991 with CCR

- Remove strut actuators.
- Reference Administrative Message #VSS20000025 and Service Manual for adjustment to the system.
- Remove & install struts per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 71854 Front, 71801 Rear.

(Electronic Ride Control)
- Remove shock actuators.
- Unplug ERC module located in rear cargo area.
- Remove & install shocks per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 5892 Front, 5939 Rear.
Ford Probe GT 1989-91 with PRC
(Programmed Ride Control)
- Remove strut actuators.
- Unplug PRC module located under the passenger seat.
- Remove & install struts per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 71837 Front, 71631 Rear.
Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe 1989-91 with PRC

This system cannot be substituted without extensive vehicle modification.

- Remove strut & shock actuators.
- Unplug PRC module located in the trunk behind rear seat.
- Remove & install struts and shocks per instruction sheet supplied with units.

- Remove strut actuators.
- Unplug AAS module located in the trunk.
- Remove & install struts per instruction sheet supplied with unit.
- Use the following units: 71837 Front, 71631 Rear.
Mazda RX7 Turbo 1989-90 & Mazda RX7 GXL 1986-88 with AAS
(Auto Adjust Suspension)
- Remove strut & shock actuators.
- Unplug AAS module located in the trunk.
- Remove & install struts & shocks per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 71804 Front, 71217 Rear.
Mazda 323 1986-89 with ASA
(Adjustable Shock Absorber)
- Remove strut actuators.
- Unplug control switch connector behind the dash.
- Remove & install struts per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 71888 Front, 71889 Rear.
- Note: The front upper mount & spring seat must be replaced with a standard OE upper mount & spring seat.
Mazda 626 1988-92 with AAS
(Auto Adjust Suspension)
- Remove strut actuators.
- Unplug AAS module located under the dash.
- Remove & install struts per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 71837 Front, 71631 Rear.

- Replace mounts with O.E. Standard mounts & spring seats.
- Use the following units: 71792 Front, 73226 Rear.

- Remove strut actuators.
- Unplug ECVSA module located in the trunk.
- Remove & install struts per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Replace mounts with O.E. Standard mounts & spring seats.
- Use the following units: 71791 Front, 73226 Rear.

(Adjustable Shock Absorber)
- Remove shock actuators.
- Unplug control switch located in console.
- Remove & install shocks per instruction sheet supplied with units.
- Use the following units: 37100 Front, 37029 Rear.

- Remove strut & shock actuators.
