Major Coverage Expansion Results in Premium-Quality, OE-Style Mount For Virtually Every Strut in Monroe Line
Las Vegas, NV, Nov. 1, 2011 – Tenneco Inc.’s (NYSE: TEN) Monroe® brand is reminding vehicle service professionals that every high-quality strut replacement job should include the installation of a new upper strut mount, bearing and related hardware. And Tenneco has backed this service recommendation through a major expansion of its popular Monroe Strut-Mate® mounting kit product line.
The company now offers nearly 530 Strut-Mate kits covering virtually every Monroe Sensa-Trac®, Reflex® and OESpectrum® strut. In addition, Tenneco engineers continually introduce new Strut-Mate coverage in conjunction with the ongoing expansion of the Monroe ride control line.
“We offer a time, convenience and quality advantage for shops by having a matching Strut-Mate kit available for nearly every Monroe strut,” said Bill Dennie, director of ride control channel management, North American Aftermarket, Tenneco. “Technicians who don’t want to experience a ride control comeback understand that a new mounting kit is a vital part of this repair. Unfortunately, some manufacturers offer incomplete coverage, which frustrates customers who are trying to do the complete job as quickly and efficiently as they can.”
Strut mounts consist of rubber-to-metal bonded parts that wear out over time. Failure to replace these components in conjunction with a new strut could cause unwanted noise, vibration, vehicle “pull” and potentially dangerous binding of the steering system.
Each Monroe Strut-Mate mounting kit is engineered to complement the ride control characteristics of the corresponding Monroe strut. These kits include an OE-style mount, bearing, upper and lower spring isolators, and upper spring seat, as required by the vehicle.
