TENNECO TO ADD 120 FOREIGN-NAMEPLATE, DOMESTIC PART NUMBERS TO MONROE® RIDE CONTROL LINE
Las Vegas, NV, Nov. 4, 2008 – Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN) will expand its industry-leading coverage in the replacement ride control category by adding 120 new part numbers for foreign-nameplate and domestic applications to its Monroe product line in January 2009.
“Leading-edge coverage is one of the many benefits Monroe offers to the market,” said Mark Christiaanse, director, ride control engineering, North American Aftermarket, Tenneco. “Each year we continue to ramp up our product offering to help ensure repair providers can capture virtually every ride control opportunity that comes to their shop. This year’s aggressive expansion will help Monroe service dealers continue to lead the market in the availability of premium replacement products for late-model applications.”
The new coverage includes 39 application-engineered Monroe Sensa-Trac® shocks and struts; 16 Monroe Quick-Strut® assemblies, including the first ever available for light-truck and sport-utility models; 21 Monroe Strut-Mount® strut mounting kits; 29 Monroe Max-Lift® gas-charged lift supports; four Monro-Magnum® steering stabilizers; and 11 Monroe Strut-Mate® boot kits.
The coverage expansion continues the company’s aggressive investment in new premium ride control units for popular late-model applications, as Tenneco has added more than 800 ride control SKUs to the Monroe product line over the past several years. The new Sensa-Trac shock and strut SKUs cover a variety of popular passenger car and SUV models from Acura, BMW, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Volvo. Sensa-Trac shocks and struts feature “prescription-tuned” internal valving and application-specific construction that help deliver original equipment-style ride and handling. The new parts will be included in the 2008-09 Monroe Master Ride Control catalog available online at www.monroe.com.
