TENNECO ‘DRIVE’ VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAM EXPANDS FOR 07/08 YEAR

Monroe®, Walker® Brands Offer Latest Instructional Tools For Automotive Service Classrooms

Las Vegas, NV - The Monroe ride control and brake and Walker exhaust brands of Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN) have announced an expanded commitment to automotive vocational education through the 2007/2008 Tenneco DRIVE program. Established in 2005, the DRIVE program has benefited more than 1,400 students enrolled in vocational education programs across North America.

“We expect to reach a record number of programs and students this year,” said Carri Irby, brand manager, North American Aftermarket, Tenneco. “DRIVE helps prepare students for successful careers in the automotive parts and service industries. At the same time, the program plays an important role in maintaining the relevance and power of Tenneco’s aftermarket brands and product lines.”

Vocational education programs participating in DRIVE receive a comprehensive kit of instructional tools related to ride control, brake systems, and exhaust/emissions control diagnosis and repair. Program materials include product “take-aparts” and cutaways, literature, and posters. Students also participate in periodic surveys designed to track their career goals and interests.

“DRIVE is an investment in the future of our industry,” Irby said. “We want to help students realize that the automotive aftermarket offers the challenge, excitement, and financial rewards they’re looking for. In fact, many students have told us they hope to operate their own repair businesses or parts stores. That’s great news for Tenneco and other major aftermarket suppliers.”
