Monroe Offers Most Ride Control Coverage of Passenger Applications; New SKUs Cover Dozens of Popular Import and Domestic Models
Las Vegas, NV - Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN), manufacturer and marketer of Monroe shocks and struts, will enhance the brand's industry-leading coverage of the North American passenger vehicle market with more than 200 additional product SKUs in 2007.
Monroe, which already offers the most coverage of replacement ride control products for passenger cars, vans, light trucks and sport-utility vehicles, will increase its offering of replacement struts -- with 106 new part numbers -- for popular late-model applications. The brand also will introduce 23 additional Monroe Quick-Strut® assemblies for import and domestic passenger cars, more than 40 new strut mount SKUs and several additional Monroe Reflex® monotube shock absorbers for light trucks.
"Monroe distributors and service providers have been able to count on Tenneco for a continued, aggressive investment in coverage of late-model import and domestic vehicles," said Mark Christiaanse, director of product management for Monroe shocks and struts. "At the end of the day, this investment helps keep service shops from having to turn away potential customers because they don't have access to products that provide application-tuned, OE-style ride and handling."
Premium Monroe Sensa-Trac® shocks and struts feature "prescription" construction and valving designed to match each vehicle's unique ride and handling profile. In cases where the vehicle was manufactured with monotube-style shock absorbers, the corresponding Sensa-Trac® shocks also feature monotube construction.
Monroe Reflex monotube shock absorbers help deliver the fast, precise damping response prescribed by many vehicle OEMs. These units feature a high-pressure gas charge separated from the internal oil to provide additional spring rate and help maximize damping efficiency and control on vehicles that were originally equipped with monotube technology. The Monroe Reflex monotube design provides up to a 50-percent larger internal working area for greater strength than some competing units, and a hydraulic lockout that cushions the impact when the vehicle suspension is fully extended. Monroe Reflex Truck Shocks from Tenneco are engineered to provide additional control to reduce pitch and roll in vehicles with higher centers of gravity.
The popular Monroe Quick-Strut assembly is an all-in-one replacement strut solution that helps shops reduced installation time while ensuring a complete, high-quality repair.
