TENNECO AGAIN EXPANDS POPULAR LINE OF MONROE® QUICK-STRUT® ASSEMBLIES

New Part Numbers For Ford, Honda, Toyota, and Volkswagen

Monroe, MI - The Monroe Quick-Strut replacement strut assembly, one of the automotive service industry's fastest growing ride control products, has increased its coverage as a result of a production line expansion from Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN).

Introduced in 2004, the Quick-Strut assembly is the first comprehensive, fully assembled replacement strut solution. Engineered to help service providers significantly reduce the time required to perform a complete strut replacement, Quick-Strut assemblies feature a replacement bearing plate, upper and lower spring isolators, upper spring seat, coil spring, boot kit, and premium application-engineered Monroe Sensa-Trac strut. Each assembly's spring rate and strut valving are carefully tuned to the vehicle's factory-specified ride and handling profile.

The latest Quick-Strut assembly part numbers include units for the Ford Focus (2000-04), Honda Accord (1990-93), Toyota Corolla (1993-2002), and Volkswagen Jetta (1993-98, 4-cylinder).

Quick-Strut sales have more than doubled Tenneco's initial projections, according to Richard Alameddine, vice president of marketing, North American aftermarket, Tenneco. The company has based its coverage on industry data and customer feedback concerning applications with higher rates of strut and spring replacement he said.

"The popularity of Quick-Strut proves that technicians and shop owners were looking for a technology to change the economics of strut replacement," Alameddine said. "We've heard from shops that have reduced their strut installation times by up to 75 percent while delivering an OE-style ride and a long-lasting, high-value repair."
